Sveafastigheter continues to strengthen its presence in the Stockholm region by land allocation of approximately 100 rental apartments in Huvudsta, Solna, based on children's needs. The project adds flexible apartment solutions with several rooms to growing families as well as safe living environments with facilities for social activities. The buildings will, among other things, be built with wooden frames and recycled materials.
Sveafastigheter is Sweden's largest publicly listed pure-play residential company with an extensive development portfolio of new constructions with a focus on the Stockholm region. Sveafastigheter now receives its first land allocation in Solna, thereby expanding its development portfolio to approximately 6,800 apartments.
– We are very happy about our first land allocation in Solna, where we will have the opportunity to make homes for more people by broadening the range of housing in the municipality. I look forward to our collaboration with Solna, where we together will give growing families with children the opportunity to stay in the municipality, says Erik Hävermark, CEO, Sveafastigheter.
Sveafastigheter's project in Huvudsta is inspired by Barnbo – a concept Sveafastigheter developed in close collaboration with the city of Stockholm. Barnbo takes a holistic perspective based on children's needs, which means, among other things, flexible apartments with several rooms, safe walkways and facilities for social activities within the own neighborhood and the surrounding area.
– More rental apartments are needed in Solna and this decision is a major step forward in this work. I am particularly happy that, in addition to more rental properties, we are also building wooden houses in Solna, says Sara Kukka-Salam, Chairman of the Municipal Board.
The project will be built in accordance with Miljöbyggnad Silver. Energy consumption is reduced through well-insulated houses, heat recovery and solar cells. The tenants are involved in saving energy through tools to be able to impact their own climate footprint.
– Sveafastigheter's goal is to start construction of 600-800 apartments per year. We look forward to establishing Sveafastigheter in Solna and creating living environments that stand over generations, says Erik Hävermark.
The Barnbo concept will also be applied in Sveafastigheter's upcoming rental property in Rågsved.
