Sveafastigheter is implementing AI control in the majority of the 250 boiler rooms in its management portfolio as part of their efforts to reduce energy consumption. Digitalization and new technology are a central part of the company's strategy to own and manage attractive rental properties in a long term perspective.
Sveafastigheter is the largest publicly listed pure-play residential company in Sweden. The company owns and develops rental properties and has 14,669 apartments under management, where technical control is carried out from just over 250 boiler rooms.
– Sveafastigheter has the opportunity to be at the forefront of digitalization. We dare to test and implement new technology in our properties that improves energy use, the working environment for our employees and the living environment for our tenants, says Ola Svensson, Head of Administration, Sveafastigheter.
In the fall of 2024, a pilot project was carried out where AI was implemented in three properties. The solution comes from Algeno, whose AI service adapts control based on the unique characteristics of each property. The system is self-learning and automatically takes into account factors such as weather and heating systems to optimize the temperature in each building. Sveafastigheter is now choosing to implement the solution in the majority of its boiler rooms.
– I am happy that we are introducing this solution. It saves both energy and money, and I know from experience that we get more satisfied tenants and easier management of our properties. It is an important step in our endeavor to be Sweden's best housing company, says Jonas Larsson, Technical Director, Sveafastigheter.
The forecast-based control allows Sveafastigheter to enable more efficient energy use and a consistent indoor climate for tenants. Sveafastigheter will also have access to a web application that visualizes data in a clear way, making it easier to make data-driven decisions.
